about

Established in 2013 by Amanda Hubbard, the business is now owned and run by Philippa Brown and Melanie Richardson, based at Wiveslden Farm in North Chailey.

Horse owners ourselves, we will wash, reproof and repair horse rugs, saddle cloths and numnahs as well as dog beds, dog coats and towels. We use top of the range cleaning products and have on hand a huge range of replacement clips, catches, webbing, material and almost anything that needs to be attached to a rug.

how it works…

You can drop off your rugs with us any time between 9.30 to 2.30 Monday to Friday and 10 to 2 on Saturdays. We are often there at other times, so give us a call if you can't get to us during the normal opening hours. We can also collect and deliver rugs, depending on your location and the number of rugs to be cleaned. Collections and deliveries outside a 10 mile radius of the unit may be subject to an additional charge.

Once we have washed your rugs and carried out any repairs that are required, we will get in touch with you to arrange payment and collection. Turnaround times will vary as we are dependent on the weather to make sure everything is dry, but will normally be 1-2 weeks. If you need your rugs sooner, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

Please note that light weight turnout rugs are not designed by the manufacturers to be completely weather proof and are usually sold as water resistant. Sometimes these rugs will leak in heavy rain, even after they have been reproofed.

The original Rambo © Dry rugs are renowned for their ability to attract shavings and bedding - so much so that Horseware had to design an updated version. Once shavings are attached, it is almost impossible to remove them. without a lot of time and patience. There is also a risk that the material will be damaged, so please get in touch with us in advance and we can work out the best thing to do.

repairs

We can repair pretty much anything and as every repair is different it is difficult to quote without seeing it first. Sometimes the repair may not be cost effective and we will let you know if that is the case. We have a huge stock of fittings and clips, as well as material, linings and bindings and we will try to match what is already there, but please let us know if you want like for like replacement, as we will have to order that in specially. For example, Premier Equine clips and straps will take around a week to 10 days to arrive and are significantly more expensive than a generic replacement.

where we operate

We operate out of a unit at Wivelsden Farm, North Common Road, North Chailey, BN8 4EJ and are situated at the end of the drive, just behind the solar panel array. We have two industrial washing machines and a tumble dryer, which is used to seal the waterproofing on turnout rugs. All rugs are air dried once the proofing has been sealed, to avoid shrinkage and damage.
